Guys like these are the true salespeople. They use clever marketing to hide the truth just enough to make it the customer’s fault for not seeing it, then they get annoyed when the customer figures out there’s a problem. With this fellow, I bought a Neon Genesis Evangelion box set from him. I asked him if he could round the price down from $112 and some change to $110, but he arrogantly refused.
Anyway, I received the package and discovered that the art box itself had some nicks in it. I went back the auction page to look it over, and discovered that the slightly-too-blurry photo was taken to hide the damage just enough for any potential buyer to mistake it for a photo glitch. He mentioned nothing of the damage to the box.
I e-mailed him about this, asking if I could have a ten dollar refund for the wear on the box. He replied saying, in a very annoyed manner (using the word “sir” in a way that made me want to slug him), that he didn’t have another box and wouldn’t give me a refund. I decided this was a lost cause and left him neutural feedback, simply because the DVDs themselves were in great condition, but I didn’t like his deception or attitude.
I quickly discovered that he was the type to fly off the handle. He left me negative feedback and stated “Should not be on ebay ,needs to growup ,liar and troublemaker ,sellers beware!” In his reply to my feedback, he stated, with skillful grammar, “This guy should not be on ebay,he's a liar and should be ashame of himself !!!!” Yep, pointless name calling, the mark of the defeated. Of course, who has the scar on their record?
